Dealu Mare in Romania is known for its red wines. In the summer it can get wonderfully warm. And many wines are made with Romania’s own red grape, Fetească Neagră. The white grape Fetească albă also occurs in many vineyards, just like the Tămâioasă românească.

Fly on Friday morning from Eindhoven or Amsterdam. 3 hours later you are at Henri Coanda airport where you drive to Urlați in an hour by car. The beginning of the Dealu Mare. In Romania you are not allowed to drive after drinking alcohol. So we will first make a nice cultural trip and visit your Bellu Mansion (https://goo.gl/maps/QgEJUjDznWSBEu6L9) Then you will drive to Ceptura, where a great opportunity (https://vinaliaceptura.ro) to spend the night and a few vineyards that can be visited. In Romania it is very common to call, emails are not always answered. So if you want to do a tasting at one of the wineries in Ceptura, call them in advance.

After a wonderful night’s sleep among the vineyards, it’s time for a more active day. From Ceptura it is less than half an hour to Camping Orange Valley www.campingorangevalley.nl, which is located between the vineyards of Tohani and Vadu Sapat, in the small town of Valea Scheilor. On this Glamping you can sleep wonderfully in the open air in tents with queen-size beds and bicycles can be rented here. From the campsite you can drive a nice round between 3 vineyards. Licorna Winehouse, Mierla Alba and Velvet. Velvet is ideal for a picnic among the vineyards and then it’s mainly a descent back to the campsite. Where you can enjoy BBQ.
